Tutorial: How to unprotect your Ampd Ringtones
From HowardForums Wiki
Amp'd ring tones are AAC protected, which is a pain in the ***, but, there's a way to get them.
I'm writing this on a basic level, I have a "Skip to the point" section on the bottom, but this part of the post is step by step for the newbies.

Basic Level
- First, put your phone into COM mode. Make sure it's configured to work with bitpim. Now, go into bitpim, click "Get phone data" (The picture to the far left, with the right arrow on the right of the phone)
- Select Wallpaper and Ringtones, and click okay. Once done, go into the "Media" subtree, then go into "Ringers".
- Click file -> Export -> Media to folder
- Go into My Computer -> C:\ -> "Make New Folder" (named "ampdringtones")
- Select Ok
- Now, if you don't have VLC Media Player installed, download it from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
- Once downloaded, open it up. Go into File -> Wizard... -> Transcode/Save to file
- Click the "Choose..." button, then "Browse..." next to the open box. In file name, type in C:\ampdringtones
- This will show you a directory of your ringtones. Unfortunately, VLC can only only convert one at a time. So, select one and click ok, then ok again, then next.
- Check off "Transcode audio", MAKE SURE VIDEO IS NOT CHECKED
- Codec: MP3...Bitrate: 192
- Click next. Choose "RAW", and click next.
- Once again, click choose, navigate to C:\ampdringtones, and type in the file name you want it to be. Make sure it ends with .mp3
you can use p2k commander just find the ringtone you bought and right click it and uncheck the protected box on it.
