BitPim

Currently the test version of BitPim (1.0.6.20080630) only allows access to the filesystem. Using Get/Send data is not recommended!

Make sure the View Filesystem option is enabled: bitpimfilesystemfd3.png

Set the Phone Type to LG-VX9100: bitpimsettingszi0.png

When choosing the Com Port, use the Browse button to select the appropriate port: bitpimcommportao6.png

NOTE: Your COM ports may differ from the screenshot. BitPim will mark its recommended port by prefixing (*).

Add ringtones

Ringtones must be uploaded to the following directory: bitpimringtonesvs1.png

NOTE: Ringtones will not be available until the phone is rebooted!

Get Flash Games

You can add .swf file or flash games to your Phone by going to the file system in Bitpim. Select the folder /flash/ui/tools. You can replace either one of those files with a swf file of your choice. Now the SWF will be in place of the tool you replaced.

Edit/Update the Firmware

Caution: You may brick your phone

Obtain the proper .bin firmware file for your phone. You may edit or explore this bin using a program called MultiExtractor, and apply it to your phone by a program known as LGNPST. USE CAUTION, and a guide.

Invisible 39th Contact

When replying to a TXT/PIX/FLIX message, click on the Contacts button. Scroll down through your contacts, and you should see a blank contact. Normally this person would show up, and it does when you select it. This has been found to be the 39th contact in the list.

Bluetooth Cuts Off Voice Command And VZ Navigator Prompts

When using the LG Dare (VX9700) with a Bluetooth headset or speakerphone, the first few words of every prompt are cut off. For example in VZ Navigator (GPS) "Turn left at Main Sreet" becomes "t Main Street." While using Voice Commands, "Please say a command" becomes "command." Often times the missing words are replaced with a low subtle static. If you press "clear" (to activate Voice Commands) -> "end" -> "clear," the second voice command prompt is not cut off. Therefore it would appear that there is an issue establishing an audio connection after a period of being idle (the actual Bluetooth link never cuts out). This was last observed with Firmware V05.

Web Browser Text Boxes do not go into Keyboard Mode

Sometimes the LG Dare Web Browser does not let you open text boxes properly.
